War of Shallows

Two peoples share one world. The Pilas are giants who draw lightning out of the ground. The Diels are small and clever, and they turn what they buy from the Pilas into music, and into wings.

Between them lie a forest that remembers what was done to it, a lake that keeps its dead, and a law written on the Night of Peace that nobody has dared to break. In the north, a star is growing, and almost no one has looked up.

War of Shallows is the story of a brother and a sister, a king who would burn the world for his daughter, and a war that someone has waited a lifetime to start. It is also the story of what comes through when the sky finally opens.
